Abounding Soars In Melbourne

Updated: Nov 14

Star mare Abounding, trained by Robert Heathcote, gets a deserving Group win over Melbourne's Spring Carnival in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes on Caulfield Cup Day, bringing her astonishing prizemoney total now to over $2.7 Million.

The 5yo daughter of Rich Enuff was shortlisted and secured by Ash for $75,000 at the Magic Millions Book 2 January Yearling Sale when operating as Bloodstock Manager for Australia's Leading Syndicator First Light Racing and she has been a model of both consistency and exceptional performance for her owners from her 2yo season onwards.

The talented mare now boasts an enviable record that includes a win and multiple Stakes Placing's at 2yo (2nd in the G3 Ken Russell Memorial, 2nd in the Listed Bill Carter Stakes, 3rd in the Listed Oxlade Stakes); 3 wins at 3yo including the $3M Listed Magic Millions 3yo Guineas and Listed Gold Edition Plate as well as a 4th in the G1 Tatt's Tiara and 3rd in the G2 Dane Ripper Stakes; then as a 4yo, a win in the Listed Tatt's Classic and 2nd in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara; before then crossing the boarder for the first time to tackle Melbourne's Spring Carnival where she's continued her rich vein of form with a win and 3 placing's from her four Melbourne starts to date - all at Stakes level - including placings in the G3 Cockram Stakes, G2 Let's Elope and G2 Stock's Stakes ahead of her well deserved victory in the G2 Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield.

She has now earned 36 x her purchase price while holding incredible residual value as a breeding prospect well into the 7-figures and now has her sights set on securing that elusive Group 1 victory over Melbourne Cup week in the time-honoured Empire Rose Stakes over the 1600m at Flemington.
