Karaka was no easy feat this week with the New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2025 Ready to Run Sale reaching record-breaking levels, underscoring the ongoing strength and global demand for NZ-prepared horses thanks to the success of recent graduates from this sale in Group 1 winners Ceolwulf, Mr Brightside, Antino, Feroce, Gringotts, War Machine, War Monger and Pulchritudinous.


Key Sale Highlights:


  • Record aggregate: NZD $41.4 million

  • Record average: NZD $156,255

  • Record median: NZD $100,000

  • Top lot sold for $825,000 (Zoustar colt)

  • Strongest middle market ever recorded, with broad buyer participation from Australia, Hong Kong, and broader Asia
